Glanadda Inn

Does anyone have any information on the Glanadda Inn, i believe my GG Grandfather was the Innkeeper and would like to know about what year. Also did we have an army base in the First World War?

Slaters Directory 1895

http://www.bangorcivicsociety.org.uk/pages/hisso/slaters1895/sc9.htm

Shows the 'Glanadda Inn' at 210 Caernarfon Road, Bangor
Licensee as George W Wilkinson

(Mary Jones in the Sutton Directory of 1890 http://www.bangorcivicsociety.org.uk/pages/hisso/Suttons/s20.htm again in 1886 http://www.bangorcivicsociety.org.uk/pages/hisso/caerdir/s12.htm again in 1874 http://www.bangorcivicsociety.org.uk/pages/hisso/worral/s10.htm)

So it appears that he took over from a well established Licensee of no apparent relation.

Environs of the Glanadda Inn (210 Caernarfon Road) 1905

Today the Glanadda Inn no longer exists as a building, now 'modern' Housing Association flats known as Plas Adda fill its place standing opposite 201 - 211

Caernarfon Road has even numbers to the left as you look at the map above and uneven numbers to the right.

The two abandoned houses near to the St Davids Retail Park are 290 and 292
The nearby Post Office is 243/245
The Union Public House is 217/219
The laundrette is 213
