York House, York Place - Shown on the 1889 Town Plan

In 1911 (Census) this was the home of:

William Price Smith                 45         Deputy Clerk To Justices (in 1897 he was the Relieving Officer)

Real photographic postcard of A/360449 Private David Hugh Price Smith serving with the Army Service Corps in France. Born 1899 and in 1911 lived at York House, Bangor. His father was Deputy Clerk to the Justices. Probably enlisted under-age.

David Hugh Price-Smith was born in 1899. Son of William Price Smith and Margaret Anne Price Smith. Father Born in Bangor. Mother born in Bethesda. Married [nee Graham ] in 1926 and died 1929 at Whitchurch, Shropshire [ registration district ].

The Chinery's lived there between 1940-2001. Henry Aldridge a carpenter/handyman at the Normal College, until he died in 2000 and Pat Chinery his wife who was a cook at the Normal college, and whose house it was, she died in 1983. They had three children, selling York House in 2001.
