Caeau'r Glyn

Caeau'r Glyn is 16 acres of pasture land owned by Gwynedd Council between Holyhead Road and Brewery Fields. The Tyfu project is working to purchase this land to develop an exciting vision for a community owned and run parkland with:

Children's play area

Cycle link to Treborth and Menai Bridge

Environmental Education facilities for the nearby schools, colleges and the wider community

Wildlife garden

opportunities for conservation management training

Tyfu is a partnership project led by Ty Gwydr Greenhouse and Trawsnewid Bangor Transition with support from BTCV Cymru, Bangor Forest Garden, Afal Enlli, Wales Youth Forum for Sustainable Development and others who are yet to formerly join the project.

Tyfu is preparing a management plan for the fields which will be presented to Gwynedd Council in April 2010. If accepted by Gwynedd Council Tyfu will apply for Big Lottery funding to purchase the land for the community of Bangor and to develop a community vision for the fields.
