Said to be historically the premises known as Manchester House a Coaching Inn. Although shown on the 1840 and 1851 tithe maps as Holyhead Tavern, and refered to as Manchester Arms (1856) above.
Over the course of approximately 30 years to 2018 George and Vaz have painstakingly recreated a little piece of the Mediterranean in this popular venue but reluctantly as they approach retirement they feel it is best to let the prospect of future business move onto another generation to continue to build on not only the prosperous restaurant business they have set up, but also the highly popular bar and music venue which is extremely popular with both locals and students throughout term time, as the property benefits from an entertaining and music licence operating 7 days a week
The restaurant is heavily based around a Greek theme in both décor, furnishings and style but could easily adapt to alternative themes if required, with a covered courtyard leading into separate bars, sitting alcoves, restaurants and catering areas. With the venue capable of holding in excess of 150 patrons having galleried seating areas together with the main restaurant a variety of uses can be provided at this venue and it is believed continue to develop the business to the next era
George also did martial arts training in a dojo in the back.
