I am researching my the pilots who worked on the Straits in the 1800's especially 1863 - 1900. My great grand father was appointed a Trinity House Pilot in 1863 but was a pilot on the Straits before that. His name was William Jones and in 1891 lived at 1 Castle View, Upper Garth Road. Hope that someone can help.
