Family Research

Not sure if anyone uses this board anymore but thought I'd just post a quick quezzy.
Please can anyone tell me where West End Terrace was or is in Bangor?
Or indeed any information about West End Terrace.
Many thanks

Re: Family Research

The year I was looking for regarding my West End Terrace, Bangor search is 1939 if that is of any help.
i.e. West End Terrace, Bangor was given as a home address in the year 1939
Many thanks

If you look at Google Maps, you will see that West End is the group of houses and shops at the junction of Penchwintan and Caernarfon Road. I don't know which part is specifically called West End Terrace.

Greetings Juliet

I remember you when you were a tiny tot!  We lived in Penrhos Road, nextdoor to your aunt, Kath Keegan, so I have fond memories of your mother and grandparents. I remember your mother giving me some advice when I was trying to paint a picture for my art homework.  She was quite arty, and I know she became a writer of historical novels.

I loved your gran who always seemed a bit bohemian compared to her more conventional contemporaries. Your grandfather was a very amiable character, who I knew until he left Bangor.

Best regards

Hi David
What a surprise!! And I do remember you & your mum.Was She called Renee?
I suppose you know that my Mum died very young, only 46 then my Nan & then Gramps died in 2010.
So that was the end of my lovely Bohemian family! I have however started one of my own!! And I am very like my Nan which makes me very proud!  Lots of Love xxx

Re: Family Research

Many thanks for your reply Matt
I thought I'd entered a paralell universe for a moment:)
The old map is very useful as it clearly shows West End and there are a couple of terraces around and about even though some have now vanished:]
Also it ties in that my father worked on the railway
Many thanks once again
