Crossing Deiniol Road to Pontio

The more expectations are aroused about this grand link ("pont") between City and University, the more important it is to keep the existing barrier to pedestrians in mind.  Pedestrians get used to waiting..., in whatever the weather may send, and then requiring traffic to wait while they cross.  (There are times when it is bearable to wait, admiring the traffic, the buildings, the Memorial, the trees.  But there are also times when it is less pleasant: one is standing in the wind and the rain (or snow), getting splashed, in a hurry to work, or to get to some function.)
While the lights allow crossing, all traffic, public, private, service... is held up.  With a vast architectural and financial development like Pontio, does it not seem myopic not to include an imaginative and handsome footbridge?  The site presents limitations (of course), but also scenic possibilities.  (One need only examine examples of Pedestrian Bridges, through Google,to realise what architectural and civically advantageous solutions are possible.
It was with that in mind that I tried to post a message some time ago, and succeeded in posting a (much larger) example of possibilities, in a picture which continues to be visible as an "Announcement" on this website.  The matter has been "on agendas", but the extent of public support for the idea has not been indicated so far.  What do you think?
Note that the publicity views of "Pontio" suggest that there is nothing to obstruct access from the city: it is an idyllic open space, with jolly people walking about freely!
